A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.

Sorry I missed the last two weeks. =( I had a milk blister… that turned into a clogged duct… that turned into a breast infection… that turned into a breast abscess. The high fever, the flu like symptoms and the Dr visits were NOT fun, but I fought my doctor to keep breastfeeding and I am glad I did. Everything is great and pretty much completely  healed.
Kaiyenna: You turned three this week! I can’t believe it. You are growing up way to fast and I feel like I can’t slow life down enough to really enjoy this age. I love the little freckles you have on your nose and cheeks. I think it’s because it’s the one thing I know you got from me.

Naiya: You are five months going on two! It feels like you are doing something new almost every day. Recently you found your voice and it is loud! I have been calling you my little pterodactyl. You get so excited when you make the loud screeching sound. Hopefully it is a short phase. =)

Ouch!! I’m glad you are all better now and still able to breastfeed. I’ve missed you these last few weeks. Happy Birthday to Kaiyenna. I’m bringing Ella’s clothes (2T) with me for you. We will only be coming for about 2 weeks (June 8-June22). Look forward to meeting Naiya. :-)

These are so great Michelle! What a wonderful project and gift to them later in their lives. Such special moments in your life in theirs captured through your wonderful lens. I love seeing them and keeping up with your lives. Hope the breastfeeding is still going well.

Kaiyenna: You don’t let us put your hair up and it was so long that it was getting stuck in your armpits! Gross! I was tired of fighting with you… so we took you to have your first hair cut. (I tried cutting it when you were younger because your hair looked like it was a mullet but your papi didn’t want me to cut it.)
You were excited the day before but when we got to the salon, you were not having it! I tried every bribery I could think of…. scone… cake… finally the lollipop got you to sit in the chair. Once you were in the chair, you did great! You were so cute when you saw your hair. You showed everyone your new haircut the rest of the day.

Naiya: You are so irresistible when you are sleeping. I just want to snuggle with you.

I love “first” haircuts. I took the girls a couple of times and now I’m back to trimming it myself. When they start needing a “style” I will have to start taking them again. Sweet pictures! I miss the cuddly baby stage.

Kaiyenna: You LOVE going to the movies. If it is “scary” you cover your eyes but just enough so  you can still see through. You also LOVE the popcorn. You eat your popcorn with both hands at the same time.

Naiya: Slow down!!!! This week you got your ears pierced, laughed for the first time, started grabbing your feet, rolled over, and you are scouting yourself around on the floor. You are changing so much and so fast. SLOW DOWN… I want to savor this time and it’s going by too fast.

[…] week I loved the photos on Endearing Life. The soft squish of baby rolls, and the moment captured of taking it all […]

Kaiyenna: You are always so serious when you draw or “write.”

Naiya: I know you are a little young for your jumper but you are getting hard to hold. You only want to stand and move around like crazy so we tried the jumper…. you of course LOVED it! You are such a busy girl!

Kaiyenna: This is the face you make when we ask you a question. You’ll say…”Ummmmmmm….” and make your thinking face.

Naiya: You have really started grabbing at your toys over the last couple weeks. You get really serious and it sounds like you are yelling at your toys when you can’t get them to your mouth.
